If you're in the Loveland area, check out some of my latest work at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse! My art will be up for display and sale until the end of November. Enjoy some deliciously authentic German beer and some cool ceramics!
Wall Planter
This planter hangs flush against the wall. It's best suited for plants that don't need much drainage, like pothos ivy. It is approximately 7x10x4 inches.
Keyhole Triptych
A little piece depicting a local treasure. The Keyhole is part of a large hogback rock formation called Devil's Backbone. Each tile is approximately 8"x10".
After not being happy with the underglaze finish. I took a long shot and re-glazed this piece. I'm fairly happy with the results.
Almost finished
Mapped out.
Yosemite Falls Clayscape
A large clayscape of Upper Yosemite Falls that's almost complete. This piece is about 17x35 inches.
Update: 12.10.2016
Underglaze layer, almost complete. A high shine clear coat was applied to the waterfall to create contrast.
Update: 11.2.2016
Finally glazing this piece!
Green (not fired)
Ceramic 5k Medals
2017: This year, I wanted to use more foreground elements while still keeping the design simple. The process was basically the same as the previous year.
2016: My first year creating ceramic 5K medals for my school. This year, the goal was to create something simple while emphasizing the beauty of the front range. Here's what I came up with.
Ceramic "stamp" to be pressed into moist clay.
Trimmed and drying for bisque fire.
Complete!
Hanging Planters
A newer hanging planter. This one is a little bigger at about 7"x 6.5"x 6.5" with a 4" diameter opening.
Unfortunately, this is the only one of these two that survived the bisque fire. Here it is all finished up.
A pair of small hanging planters. They're about 5.5"x 6"x 5" with a 3.5" diameter opening. These would be well suited for starter plants or smaller succulent varieties.
Peak Trivets
I found these trivets a few years back at a thrift store. I liked the idea of replacing the tiles with new ones. After brainstorming for a while, I came up with the idea of creating miniature clayscapes of the prominent peaks in the area.
Cirque Meadows Clayscape
Finally creating again after a lengthy hiatus. This is a smaller piece 6"x12".
Green (not yet fired)
Underglaze
Complete
